The River

Miles and miles of salmon holding waters

Ten miles of the main branch of the Grey River system, which is a medium sized Atlantic salmon river, is accessible to anglers primarily by wading. However two boats stationed at The Forks Lodge are available for fishing some of the home pools, and for crossing the river. While there are a large number of excellent pools near this lodge, opportunity also exists to hike the river and fish the many salmon holding areas throughout.

The majority of fish entering the river system also travel up the Salmon Brook tributary, which enters the main branch at The Forks Lodge. Seven miles up that tributary is where the Salmon Brook Lodge is located. This smaller river with many pools scattered throughout, offers excellent angling both adjacent to the lodge and farther afield.
